About

Join us on dog sledding trip with 4-6 dogs each. The trip will be led by a knowledgeable tour-guide who has their own dog-sled. The path goes through a trollish terrain between majestic mountains.

The trip goes out in the wilderness in a moderate tempo, where twos may borrow a sled with 4-6 dogs. You can either drive on your own, where you and your partner switch, or you may have your own driver. At the front a knowledgeable tour-guide will drive, through a trollish terrain between majestic mountains. The winter-night in polar areas is special. It is often quiet and starry. The trees are covered in ice crystals and nature is hibernating. It rarely becomes completely dark, and when the Northern Lights spread across the sky it reflects in thousands of ice crystals. Then we stop and let the dogs have a break while we take photos, or just enjoy the beauty.

But before the trip starts, we take some time to become acquainted with the dogs and the equipment.

We will go through how to drive dog-sleds, how to steer, and how to break. We emphasise safety, and therefore it is important that everyone knows what we are talking of. Therefore, if you have questions, ask. The session happens in the lavvu, under controlled circumstances, because when we start attaching the dogs to the sleds the commotion starts. The dogs show such joy at running that they start howling. When they do, it is impossible to hold a regular conversation at length.
