About
Hemmestad Wharf had its heyday in the 1800s. From Hemmestad went cargo vessels to Bergen twice a year. They brought clipfish, transform, birds and cloudberries south. In return was sloop loaded with exotic goods such as coffee, spices, sugar candy, textiles and spirits.
Trading is now a museum, where the old pier house is intact with shop, post office. . . let yourself be lured by exhibitions and café amid maritime environment.
