Public House

When, in 2012, the Ivy House pub is closed and to be converted into flats, the community steps in and reclaims it as their own. Filmmaker Sarah Turner, in collaboration with users of the pub, presents a poetic document of local cooperative resistance and of a community asserting artistic, social and political agency over its right to exist.

Public House is being screened as part of the programme, Reject and Reclaim.

United Kingdom (2016). Director: Sarah Turner. Distribution: LUX
