The ILIOS New Music Festival has during the first 25 years developed into one of the country's most established festivals for new art, with music as the starting point and anchorage. Norwegian Cultural Council gave the festival 3-year support in 2018, a signal from the central team that ILIOS is important. During four days, the festival shows breadth and variety in today's contemporary music. New music combined with other art forms meets the audience where they are, in established and also untraditional concert venues. ILIOS festival for new music belongs to Ny Musikk Harstad, which is a subdivision of New Music.
