The backyard market is the region's largest outdoor market. It grows from year to year and attracts more and more people, both exhibitors and visitors. In 2022, close to 10,000 people visited the market in the center of Harstad, and over 60 exhibitors got value for money. Several people reported record sales, exhibitors sold out of goods and people beamed in the crowd.
The market is unique to Bakgården and something we value highly. The market area The backyard market stretches from Strandgata, across the square and all the way to the car park in front of Harstad Bus Terminal. There is room for 80 stands here. The area stretches through the entire city centre, and if we are spoiled as we are, the market is accompanied by brilliant sunshine.
On Saturday, the old backyard will be turned into the FamilieBakgården, where we will also set up the Children's Recycle Market. Here, children up to the age of 12 can sell their used clothes and toys. The backyard market is going to be the most visited days in the city center with a variety of offers for both young and old!

Although Bakgårdsmarkedet has experienced great growth in the number of exhibitors over the years, the market has room for even more. - We encourage private individuals, teams, associations and companies to sign up. The greater the diversity, the better. Since our market has consolidated its position as the most attractive market in our region, Bakgården is a unique place to profile yourself. Bakgården's market annually tempts around 12,000 people to the center of Harstad. No other market events in our region can show similar visitor numbers. It is not at all stupid to secure a sales booth in such a company.
