In a strange place

About

In a Strange Place" is a contemplative multi-channel video installation that delves into the future of our forests and those who nurture them.

The video goes in loop between 11:00 - 15:00.

In 2020, Canadian artist duo Mia + Eric initiated a multi-year community project across England, Germany, and Harstad, focusing on the interconnection between people and woodlands. Collaborating with foresters, ecologists, activists, and others, they inspired reflections on interspecies relationships and biodiversity.

Their work, "In a Strange Place", is the creative culmination of this journey, featuring a meditative 9-channel video installation with forest caretakers from Norway and Germany. These caretakers perform 'dances' in the woods, inviting the audience to engage with a digital forest and become active viewers.
