About
Rockefår opens Bakgårdfesten on Friday 18 August! Now it's rock in pyjamas!
Rockefår is a music group with 11 adults with disabilities, who play together at Harstad leisure center every Thursday. The members can play popular music of their own choosing, with the main emphasis on music that gives musical pleasure. The interaction takes place with the help of lights with different colors for tones/harmony.
Rockefår has existed for almost 30 years! In the first years, they were an independent group under what was then called the leisure unit, but are now a music service provided by the cultural school. The members of the group show great enjoyment and commitment - especially when they are allowed to perform for an audience. They have done many gigs around Harstad. Everything from Harstad leisure club, Bakgården, Harstad church, the University of Harstad, and much more. The group is led by Hugo Stokkan, Asle Skardal and Tommy Karlsen.
This winter the group has had a project where they have recorded 2 songs. One was written by Hugo Stokkan and is called "Vi e på vei", and the other is the cover song "Tøff i pyjamas" by "DeLillos". These songs have now been released on digital media such as Spotify, Tidal, Youtube etc. The album is called "Gleden med musik". The song "Tøff i pyjamas" was sent to Lars Lillo Stenberg and management for approval. They thought the song was so tough that when they had a concert in Harstad cultural center they gave free tickets to all the members of Rockefår!
Rockefår last visited Bakgården in 2011, to great joy and cheers. Now it's high time for a reunion! The opening on Friday 18 August will be a unique experience! We can't wait to both see and hear the iconic Rockefår gang, who are the toughest we know of in pyjamas!
